We recognise that everything we do contributes to these extremely important outcomes.
From our vision and values to our services and business conduct, we are committed to challenging ourselves against a number of standards and policies to ensure we are exceeding our legal, moral and corporate obligations to all; our customers and suppliers, local and wider communities, our employees, and the environment.
We maintain a strong vision, which defines the culture of our business and how we interact with others.
Our vision is to be the most customer-focussed utilities provider, delivering world-class service and value in a sustainable way.
This vision underpins our commitments to our stakeholders, and ensures that all of us at Anglian Water Business can continue to be proud of our ethical, responsible and sustainable business. Our vision is supported by five values and these underpin how we do business:
- Professionalism – strive for excellence and be dedicated to improving all we do
- Flexibility – be able to adapt quickly to customers’ needs
- Integrity – be honest and transparent in our dealings with others
- Support – care for the natural environment, our community and each other
- Results – have a ‘can do’ positive attitude and take ownership of work to get the job done
Our corporate social responsibility (CSR) commitment is backed up by our Business Ethics Policy, Code of Conduct and Environmental Policy.
As part of our corporate social responsibility commitment we’re proud to support the work of WaterAid.
WaterAid is an international organisation, set up in 1981, by members of the UK water industry. Water Aid’s mission is to transform the lives of the poorest and most marginalised people by improving access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene.
Their goal is to get safe water, sanitation and hygiene to everyone everywhere by 2030. Find out more about WaterAid here.
Scottish Business Pledge
We’re proud to have signed up to the Scottish Business Pledge, committing to a number of fair working practices including paying the Living Wage. As an accredited Living Wage employer, we’re playing a key role in helping to bring jobs, apprenticeships and training to Scotland.
Fair working practices
As a business mindful of corporate social responsibility, we know that slavery, servitude, forced labour and human trafficking (modern slavery) is a growing, global issue. It exists in every region of the world and in every type of economy, whether industrialised, developing or in transition. No sector or industry can be considered immune or untainted.
We’re committed to being fully complaint with modern slavery and human trafficking laws in everything we do, whether hiring new staff or interacting with suppliers.
